When Perseus identified the Gorgons, he applied the helmet of invisibility to sneak up on Medusa. He then used the mirrored protect to get rid of her, looking at Medusa’s reflection rather than straight at her to ensure he would not be turned to stone.
This angered Poseidon, the supreme god of The ocean. To punish Cassiopeia, Poseidon despatched a sea monster (named Cetus in some sources) to ravage the shore of her and her partner’s kingdom.
Phorcys, one of several “old Gentlemen of The ocean,” was ordinarily imagined for a wizened sea god. He was the father of assorted monsters who dwelled during the terrifying depths of the sea, and was occasionally represented as being a merman-like creature himself. As on the list of lords of the deep, he danced beneath the waves with another sea creatures.[three]

The competition was resolved through the Cretan hero Idomeneus, who judged it in Thetis’ favor. Medea accused Idomeneus of lying and laid a curse on him, generating him incapable of ever telling the truth.[35]
Andromeda was the daughter of Cepheus and Cassiopeia, the king and queen of mythical Ethiopia. Andromeda and her mother Cassiopeia were being renowned for their magnificence; but Cassiopeia’s excessive boasting soon angered the gods.
When Perseus achieved the Hesperides, he was provided a special satchel which could securely have Medusa’s head.
